Tetrapod Fauna of the Upper Triassic (revueltian) Owl Rock Formation, Chinle Group, Arizona
The Owl Rock Formation, upper Chinle Group, crops out in the Four Corners area. In the 1980s, Kirby made an extensive collection of vertebrate fossils from the Owl Rock Formation in the Ward Terrace area, northeastern Arizona. We review the Owl Rock tetrapod fauna and refine the taxonomic assignments provided by previous workers. The Owl Rock Formation tetrapod assemblage thus consists of: meto...

Unusual tetrapod teeth from the Upper Triassic Chinle Formation, Arizona, USA1
Two teeth collected from the Upper Triasssic Chinle Formation of northeastern Arizona are described here and named Kraterokheirodon colberti gen. et sp. nov. These teeth are novel in having an occlusal ridge with six cusps and a posterior shelf lacking dentine. Evidence for thecodont implantation of the root suggests amniote affinities for these teeth. They do not match any teeth known for basa...
متن کاملAlgae (Dasycladales) from the Upper Triassic Nayband Formation (northeast Iran)
Dasycladales are relatively abundant in the bedded limestones of the Bidestan and Howz-e Khan members of the Late Triassic Nayband Formation in central Iran. In a locality south of the town of Naybandan (northwest of Dig-e Rostam), several Rhaetian dasycladacean algae were found in thin sections. The following taxa are described: Diplopora phanerospora Pia, Naybandoporella rhaetica nov. gen. no...
متن کاملA new herrerasaurid (Dinosauria, Saurischia) from the Upper Triassic Ischigualasto Formation of northwestern Argentina
Herrerasauridae comprises a basal clade of dinosaurs best known from the Upper Triassic of Argentina and Brazil, which have yielded remains of Herrerasaurus ischigualastensis and Staurikosaurus pricei, respectively. Systematic opinion regarding the position of Herrerasauridae at the base of Dinosauria has varied. Here we describe a new herrerasaurid, Sanjuansaurus gordilloi gen. n., sp. n., bas...
